Rianlon Showcases Breakthrough Solutions to Address NIAS Regulatory Challenges at SPE Conference
HOUSTON, TX – At the recent SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers) conference, Yiran Wang, Technical Marketing Manager for International Area at Rianlon, delivered a compelling presentation addressing a critical challenge in the polyolefin industry: Non-Intentionally Added Substances (NIAS). With global regulations, particularly in Europe, imposing stricter controls on migratory substances in drinking water pipes, the industry faces an urgent need for safer stabilization systems.

During the session, Rianlon introduced its next-generation formulation, U-pack® B8655, designed to significantly enhance safety and performance. Wang highlighted the formulation’s exceptional efficiency, demonstrating that U-pack® B8655 can achieve a 25% reduction in total dosage while maintaining identical processing stability compared to traditional systems.
The presentation featured remarkable data on the reduction of harmful “Arvin fragments,” which are key NIAS of concern in polymer materials. By utilizing components with higher intrinsic stability, U-pack® B8655 achieved an 80% reduction in Arvin 4 and a 27% reduction in Arvin 8. Overall, the total Arvin fragment content was reduced by over 40%.

The presentation resonated strongly with the audience, reinforcing Rianlon’s position as a leader in safety-focused anti-aging technology for the global plastics market.
