Highly Functional Material Week Osaka: From Processing Stability to Long-Term Weatherability, Rianlon Advances Polymer Stabilization

Osaka, Japan – May 2026 – Highly Functional Material Week Osaka, one of Asia’s key platforms for advanced materials, continues to serve as an important industry event focused on sustainable manufacturing and high-performance applications. From May 13 to 15, 2026, Rianlon’s Japan subsidiary, together with its international technical team, showcased a comprehensive portfolio of polymer stabilization solutions covering antioxidants, light stabilizers, and regulatory-compliant alternatives.

As market demand for long-term material durability continues to grow, topics such as high heat resistance, long-term weatherability, and regulatory compliance became key areas of focus across the value chain. In response to these industry trends, Rianlon highlighted three core technology areas tailored to different polymer systems and application requirements.
Tailored Phosphite Antioxidant Solutions
Phosphite antioxidants are essential processing stabilizers that help maintain color consistency and mechanical properties during polymer processing. At the exhibition, Rianlon presented its comprehensive phosphite antioxidant portfolio, providing targeted thermal stabilization solutions for engineering plastics, polyolefins, elastomers, and other polymer systems with different processing requirements.

A high-performance phosphite antioxidant capable of withstanding processing temperatures up to 400°C. With high molecular weight, high phosphorus content, low volatility, and excellent thermal and hydrolytic stability, it effectively reduces yellowing and degradation during high-temperature processing and long-term use.
A widely used phosphite antioxidant with relatively low phosphorus content, excellent polymer compatibility, and low blooming tendency. It also provides outstanding hydrolytic stability, thermal stability, and chemical stability.
RIANOX® 626
A high-efficiency stabilizer with low volatility, commonly used in combination with hindered phenolic antioxidants to improve processing stability.
RIANOX® 688
Offers a balanced combination of melting point, hydrolytic stability, and reactivity, making it suitable for a wide range of processing systems.
Sustainable Alternatives for SVHC Compliance
As global environmental and chemical regulations continue to become more stringent, particularly regarding Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), Rianlon presented sustainable alternatives designed to replace traditionally restricted additives.
These solutions help customers upgrade their stabilization systems while maintaining material performance, enabling them to better respond to evolving regulatory requirements and global supply chain challenges.

High-Performance Triazine UV Absorbers
With the rapid growth of industries such as new energy vehicles (NEVs), photovoltaics, outdoor construction materials, and high-end functional films, demand for long-term material stability under high-temperature and intense UV exposure has increased significantly. Conventional UV absorber technologies are increasingly challenged in terms of thermal stability, volatility control, and long-term weatherability in high-performance applications.

During the exhibition, Rianlon’s high-performance triazine UV absorbers, including RIASORB® UV-1164and RIASORB® UV-1577, attracted strong industry interest. Featuring broad-spectrum UV absorption, excellent thermal stability, and low volatility, this product series is particularly suitable for outdoor applications requiring superior weatherability and long service life, helping maintain long-term material performance in demanding environments.
Strengthening APAC Presence Through Localized Technical Support
The Japanese market has long maintained high standards for material reliability, product sustainability, and technical service capabilities. Through this exhibition, Rianlon further strengthened technical exchanges with local customers and partners in Japan while demonstrating its commitment to leveraging its global technical network and localized service capabilities to support the industry’s transition toward more sustainable material solutions.
Looking ahead, Rianlon will continue advancing polymer stabilization technologies and providing safer, more efficient, and more sustainable material solutions for customers worldwide.
